Ice Shelter!

Depending on where you live, you might not have received the tremendous amount of snow that Camp got the last couple of days. It total, we had an accumulation of ten inches of snow! So Brian had the great idea to build a snow shelter, ice hut, or quincy. All are acceptables names for a shelter built out of snow. We had a four foot high, seven foot wide mound of snow piled up on the Senior Boys Village basketball courts and started digging it out. I should mention that building a ice hut can be dangerous if you are not sure what you're doing. I highly recommend having someone with you, even better if they know what they are doing. We used a couple of tools. You might have heard of them, snow shovel, snow brush for a car, and dustpan. It took us about two hours, but the end result, as you can see, is awesome. Believe it or not, but the temperature is actually warmer inside, then the air temperature is on the outside. I would have slept in the ice hut, but my sleeping bag is not a cold weather sleeping bag. All in all, it was a good amount of fun, and a nice way to pass the time until Camp starts. Which reminds me, remember, now there is only 123 days until session one, 137 days until session two, 151 days until session three, 158 days until session four, 165 days until session five and only 172 days until session six! I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
