I'm a Chingachgook Kid

I have done it! Camp Chingachgook has a blog.
ONLY 153 DAYS UNTIL SESSION ONE STARTS!!!!

Believe it or not but Camp is extremely busy right now, but sometimes I find myself singing Camp songs quietly. Ever have that problem? I guess it is a good problem to have right? My favorite Chingachgook song is, "I'm a Chingachgook Kid", which was written by our current longtime director, George Painter. In case you are not familiar with the song, here are the words...
I'm a Chingachgook Kid,
Because of what I did,
At the summers on the lake,
At this camp so great.

I grew up feeling strong,
at this place where I belong.
Farewell I'll never bid,
I'm a Chingachgook kid!

I started as a Junior
I grew up to be a Senior
I became a CIT
And then a Counselor I would be.
I would lead as Unit Director
And Program make it better
I would help the younger kids you see
and learn responsibility.

I'm a Chingachgook Kid,
Because of what I did,
At the summers on the lake,
At this camp so great.

I grew up feeling strong,
at this place where I belong.
Farewell I'll never bid,
I'm a Chingachgook kid!

This camp it means a lot
the fun will never stop
My friends I love them all
As one we have a ball
There never is a bother
if we take care of each other
The leaders help us see
respect and honesty

I'm a Chingachgook Kid,
Because of what I did,
At the summers on the lake,
At this camp so great.

I grew up feeling strong,
at this place where I belong.
Farewell I'll never bid,
I'm a Chingachgook kid!

I love the archery and riflery
the art and photo too
we canoe and ski and sail
bike and hike along the trail
Then we swim, and sun and play
and play Frisbee all the day
there is tennis and volleyball
and high ropes, I love them all

I'm a Chingachgook Kid,
Because of what I did,
At the summers on the lake,
At this camp so great.

I grew up feeling strong,
at this place where I belong.
Farewell I'll never bid,
I'm a Chingachgook kid!
