Staff Swim Checks

This is for all you campers out there. Just like each of you, the entire summer staff also must complete a swim check at Camp. I've even attached a few pictures of this crew trying

their hardest to complete the entire check. A few staff members when asked about the temperature of the lake, called it "hot tub warm." That should be an encouraging sign for all you kids out there about to do their swim checks in the next several weeks!

The Final Opening Day

Camp Chingachgook's sixth and final opening day went extremely well! Once the entire cabin has arrived at Camp, the entire cabin heads out for a tour of Camp, and of course a stop at the waterfront to complete swim checks. Once swim checks are done, or while they're waiting for their chance to take the swim test, campers are put to the test by their counselors with a never ending array of great new games to play! What's on the schedule for tonight? Opening Campfire of course! Down at our Leap Inn point, campers will be entertained with a wide variety of songs and skits performed by the Chingachgook staff. Additionally, what campfire would be complete with a nice fire with a beautiful background of Lake George as the sun sets!

Opening Day Third Session

Welcome to the "Kingdoms" session at Camp. We have three different territories that Camp is currently being divided into. Those kingdoms are the Ratlin Bog Empire, Camptoria, and the Buckslovic Territories. Starting tomorrow, campers will be competing in session long events to help their kingdom reign supreme. The weather held up just fine for swim checks today. Campers journeyed down to the waterfront and spent their time until swim checks getting to know each other and learning some new games. Opening campfire started just in time for everyone to witness a truely great Camp Chingachgook sunset on Lake George.

Hello Everyone! Another successful opening day at Camp, the rain even held off until swim checks were completed. We did have our campfire indoors, but it was still a great event. Each village, program, waterfront, the CITs, adventure, and Polar Bears each presented a glorious song for all of Camp to enjoy.

So, after your kids were dropped off at Camp, they were taken on a tour of Camp, that ended with swim checks and new games at our waterfront. Here are some of the things that took place that you did not see!
