Polar Bears

Ahh...the rewards of an early morning wake-up. The pictures below are of some of the new members of the Chingachgook Polar Bear Club. They woke up every morning and were at the Waterfront by 6:55am, where they then jumped into the lake. What do they get for their efforts? How about a shiny certificate plus a t-shirt!

Polar Bears!

Hey gang! This morning, about 10 (maybe more) Camp staff jumped into the waters of Lake George keeping the Polar Bear tradition at Camp alive. The water was a brisk fifty degrees and the air temperature was much colder, only thirty-five degrees. Why did we do it? For the t-shirt of course and the joy being a member of this very exclusive Camp club! Are you a Polar Bear? If not, there's always next summer!

Early Morning Polar Bears

I was able, with some help from another staff member, to catch a very early tradition at Camp. The polar bear club is an secret few campers and staff who each morning during the session awaken before everyone else to jump into the lake to make sure it is safe for everyone else for the rest of the day. For their daring feat, they are rewarded with amazing t-shirts and certificates as long as they make it to the waterfront every morning by 7:00am during the session they are at Camp. Sounds like fun doesn't it?
